Ikea Releases Funny Ad For Its New 2015 Catalogue “Bookbook”

Share |

Ikea has its 2015 Catalog coming out. To promote it they released a hilarious ad in the style of Apple Products. The description states: “At only 8mm thin, and weighing in at less than 400g, the 2015 IKEA Catalog comes pre-installed with thousands of home furnishing ideas.” The 2015 Ikea is not a digital book or an e-book. It’s a book book.

Ikea Parodies Apple Presenting New 2015 Catalog

Jörgen Eghammer also known as Ikea’s Chief Design Guru talks about the new 2015 Catalog “The Bookbook” parodying Jony Ive talking about the upcoming Apple iPhone.

The 2015 IKEA catalog comes fully charged, and the battery is eternal. The navigation is based on tactile touch technology that you can actually feel. Content comes pre-installed via 328 high-definition pages of inspiring furnishing ideas. To start browsing, simply touch and grab. Right to left to move forwards, left to right to move backwards.

Jörgen Eghammer says in the video.

This ad was created by an agency BBH and has more than 10 milions views on YouTube.

The Bookbook can be downloaded into your mail box – the one you open with a key for no cost or downloaded in the local Ikea store.

New 2015 Ikea catalog has thousands of furnishing ideas. New furniture, kitchens, appliances, sofas, beds, mattresses, tables, chairs for everybody, whatever the size of your home or your budget. The company prints around 200 millions of its catalog every year in 27 languages for 38 countries. It’s twice as much than the number of bibles produced in one year.

The promo came out hilarious and I’m pretty sure that new furniture collections are as good as the ad. Enjoy this amusing promo video and let me know what you think about it in the comments section.
