The neutral color scheme dresses up the interior with big windows, which allow lots of light to bounce off the white walls, and makes the place feel fresh and airy. There are also heated floors, a modern kitchen, and a breakfast bar. In the guest bedroom there is even a solarium.
The rooftop outdoor area is surrounded with planter pots and makes for a nice alfresco dining spot.
There is actually another Manhattan apartment previously owned by Monroe. A 4.5-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom townhouse the actress called “sanctuary” on 127 East 78th Street. It boasts a security system, central air and heating, an outdoor terrace that overlooks a garden, and an amazing wallpapered Jacuzzi-equipped bath.
This Marilyn Monroe property was listed for rent at $27,500 a month last August.
