16th Century Barn Conversion In England
We’ve just seen an amzing farmhouse transformation in Paris and here it is, another beautiful conversion from a 16th century barn to a luxury home that does not only include huge windows and a stone fireplace but also a state-of-the-art kitchen, a ten person dining area, and a pool table entertainment room.
The idea behind this particular look won Snook Architects a planning permission appeal as they didn’t want the barn appear too domestic. And the good thing too because they won both nominations for 2013 RIBA awards for it.
While the exterior has been kept without too many drastic changes, the interior also indicates the history of the building with the stone features and the wooden beams. The modern design largely dominates the look while the old ones make a nice contrast with the decor.
