How to Design Home Theater

Home theater is a great place to escape to with a good movie with nothing distracting you, a good visual and audio quality. Here the things to keep in mind on how to design home theater. Since this is such a massive project you might want to at least consult with the professionals on electrical and acoustic if you want to achieve a real theater-effect with the sound and all that. Also prepare for some real investment and work. However, if a room and a big TV can make it for you all you really need for a home theater is a theater system meaning big flat screen TV and acoustic system that goes with it.

Furniture

The media room as it’s also often called should contain furniture for maximum comfort but it should also create a theater mood not sleepy mood. Go with armchairs as it is harder to fall in temptation of falling asleep. A set of theater armchairs will also add to the theater atmosphere. Large pillows and puffy thick mats allow more sense of freedom and can bring people closer together.

Lighting

The built in lighting is quite common for home theaters but you can also use light in the special niches in the wall featured across the room. Although lighting in theaters is purely functional it can also add to the atmosphere of your home theater. If you don’t want to watch the movie in a complete darkness one little lamp can be left on.

Real Home Theater

If you want to keep it real prepare for some hard work and investment. The surround sound system requires sound insulation, wiring should be done correctly in order to avoid accidents such as fire and finally you should decide on whether to use your basement or an outhouse for your theater. All of this requires deeper knowledge and research but it’s all quite possible if you’ve set your mind to it.
