The bathroom, which we will show you today, is designed for children by its mission, but not in style. Customers of this project chose the “adult” elegant design, contributing to the building of good taste and sense of beauty in their children. The project was implemented by the designers from Full House Design, which is engaged in a professional architectural design and interior design of private houses, apartments and public institutions.

The object is a bathroom located in an apartment in St. Petersburg, Russia. It is designed for children of customers of the project: a five-year-old girl and two-year-old boy. The area is 145 square feet.

The task

The customers have been focused on the interior in the style of modern classics. They wanted to create an atmosphere of continuity by the decor in the apartment. The interior had to include things that looked like they were inherited; however they were not such in reality.

The bathroom had to be consistent with the overall style of the apartment. In addition, it was necessary to take into account the needs of children, that was to provide a complete set of sanitary ware: a separate shower, a large soaking bathtub and a double sink.

Color

For the apartment decoration there were selected black and white (dark brown-white) colors, only occasionally thinned with olive, pearl and beige tones.

The bathroom supports the chosen color scheme. The main dominant color is white, effectively contrasting with dark brown chocolate glossy doors and wood paneling.

Materials

The designers used natural stone in all rooms, including the bathroom. In order not to refuse the application of wall moldings in a wet room, they were made of Corian instead of plaster, as in other areas. Also they used wooden panel in the bathroom, with the moldings, like on the walls.

One of the most striking interior accents became decorative marble floor with active contrast ornament, made on the basis of the author’s drawings of the designer Pavel Ivanov.

Insertion of natural marble Striato Olimpico with exquisite decorative stripes also deserves increased attention.

Furniture

The designers picked up furniture and accessories in the galleries: Restoration Hardware, Andrew Martin, Ralph Lauren. These brands offer items, whose species is close to the antiquarian.
