Spring Cleaning To-Do List

Share |

If you still haven’t gotten to Spring cleaning you might want to make a to-do list to mentally prepare for it and tackle your big cleaning one task at a time. You can first skip the areas that get cleaned regularly and start with those that often go unnoticed or are simply hard to reach.

Spring Cleaning To-Do List

Spring cleaning tools

Carpets

We do vacuum them regularly but all carpets need deep and thorough cleaning once in a while. It’s better to leave this to professionals but in case you want to do it yourself rent a steamer in a local store and give your carpet thorough cleaning.

Curtains

Give your heavy winter drapes thorough steam cleaning as well or throw them in a washing machine and hang lightweight spring curtains instead. Clean your shades or blinds and don’t forget to clean the window frame entirely.

Tall Furniture

While the rest of the furniture might get regularly vacuumed some tall items might not get the attention they need. The tops of the shelves gather lots of dust so be sure to vacuum or better dust them during your Spring cleaning.

Pantry & Closets

Pantry is essentially a strorage space so some of the products might be forgotten and long expired by the time Spring cleaning comes. Make sure to get rid of all expired produce and dust the pantry well. Also look into your other closet spaces, remove everything from them and clean them well. Organize the stuff while returning it to its place and get rid of things you no longer use. It concerns wardrobes, walk-in closests, and garden sheds as well.

Outdoors

Pick a day for cleaning only outdoors. Start with a porch/patio/deck and work your way to the gate. Wash outdoor furniture and refurnish it, if necessary.
