DIY Coffee Table Ideas
A coffee table can become a nice focus point of the room. But what if you’re tight on budget and you don’t want your old coffee table to be in anyone’s focus? There are tons of ideas out there on how to revamp your old coffee table or create a new DIY one. It’s all a matter of taste, some knowledge of such materials as wood and paint and a bit of fantasy. There are some tutorials and ideas we found that will help you create your own DIY coffee table for cheap or nothing.
Wood Stump
Wood stump can make a great coffee or side table. Just strip it off unnecessary bark or you can leave for a more rustic feel and polish the surface. You may or may not lacquer it for a glossy finish. This is an eco-friendly and easy DIY option. But you can also paint it to fit your interior. You can make a tabletop for it or put two different size stumps together to make more room for stuff.
Mirror, Mirror
Mirror can add a great twist to your coffee table. Tired of old worn out view? You can revamp your old table by stripping it off any lacquer or paint to get to the wood surface or build a new one out of wood planks and glue mirror tile to it. This can be of any shape so you can really come up with your own design. For the tabletop you can take a whole mirror and apply it the same way as tile.
Decoupage and Additional Details
If you are into decoupage you can easily transform your old worn out coffee table into something beautiful and even make it to tell a story. You could also add some additional details to it like faux seashells or crystals. Arrange them at the places where legs and tabletop join like if you just pulled your coffee table out of the sea.
