Front Door Design Ideas

A front door is an important element of exterior design. It is a focal point of the house and thus should be chosen with consideration. When choosing a front door consider the style of the house as well as materials. For instance, lacquered wooden doors aren’t easily repainted because of lacquer. Think about makeover-friendly materials if you are going to repaint the door often.

A bright door immediately catches the eye and adds a punch of color to the house. It also increases curb appeal and gives an accent to the exterior design. Choose any favorite color bright or pastel and make a front door stand out.

Unconventional doors are even more attractive. They can come in different shapes and styles featuring wrought iron details and other design elements that make them truly stand out.

Distressed Front Doors

Distressed front doors have their own appeal. While looking worn and old they should be sturdy. The door can be distressed naturally or on purpose but it should fit the exterior design.

Accessorized Front Doors

Accessorize the front door with a door wreath. It can be of neutral or contrasting punchy color which will add an accent to the front door. Also think crawling and climbing plants to decorate the entrance and generally increase curb appeal.
