5 Tips To Get Rid Of And Prevent Clutter
Removing clutter can be tough. You can’t get rid of it cause you need it but it keeps spreading across the house creating mess. The key to dealing with clutter is proper organization. But first, sort out the things, get rid of the ones you don’t use and allow new more important ones take their place.
Recycle & Donate
Recycle old furniture by reupholstering it, using it outdoors, giving it a new life. Donate clothes, home supplies you never use. Honestly estimate the number of times you used this or that thing so you could really see if it’s necessary or is just a junk in your basement.
Organize All Spaces
From kitchen to kids room make sure there are proper organization and storage systems that allow preventing clutter in the living space. Opt for side tables with drawers and multipurpose furniture. By the way, the furniture with the hidden storage space helps keep things out of sight preventing clutter.
Organize by Frequency of Use
Keep the often used things at hand to be able to reach them in a moment. All the other stuff should have its place but if it’s not used often it can be stored in a basement, attic, closet and under the stairs. Leave the highest and the lowest shelves and drawers for things used less often.
Stick to Necessary Things
If you don’t want to accumulate clutter or stress over where to store thing especially if there’s lack of precious space then try to think carefully before purchasing things. How often will you use them? How important it is to have them at home?
Sort Out Once in a While
Sort out things once in a while to reevaluate their importance and get rid of unnecessary clutter. This will give you more space for newly acquired things and prevent clutter from accumulating.
