Glamorous Interior Design by Kelly Wearstler

Designed for a couple this Mercer Island home features a beautiful, glamorous and luxurious interior design by Kelly Wearstler. This 11,000 square foot home is a mid-century cottage-style home transformed into a glam abode by Werstler using amazing wallpaper, stone sculptures, whimsical marble floor designs and other elements.

In the entry hall the floors are made of three different marbles in a graphic pattern while the ceiling is done in assymetric stripes which immediately draws the eye but other rooms feature more interesting elements yet. Each room is designed with different wallpaper wall decor. The salon features copper walls with a wall-sized Chester Arnold painting behind the sofa. Here the carpet features a pattern and other walls are covered in different-sized framed artworks.

A brass railing staircase leading from the salon features printed stairs and a stone statue under it. The library has bookshelves built into seafoam walls with marble and brass elements adding luxury feel to it. The furnishings a faceted custom desk and mid-century armchairs. The adjacent sitting room is designed with De Gournay wallpaper, white vintage chairs and wallpaper-covered ceiling.

The dining room also features a wallpaper-covered ceiling with a purple Venetian glass chandelier hanging from it above the sturdy wooden table. To coordinate the purple Wearstler added a purple rug by Rug Company.

The house features a master bedroom and a guest bedroom and bath. The master bedroom features leather framed bed and fur Epoca stools. Custom nightstands stand at both sides of the bed with identical lamps and mirrors hanging above them.

The bathroom is simply stunning. Mixing marble and onyx fantastico in walls and floors this is an ultimate play of color and texture. The guest bath is more toned down with black and white marble frames and rhomb-patterned floors.
