Heimtextil Trends in 2014

Heimtextil is an annual exhibition of textile and finishing materials, which presents new season trends. Each year the exhibition pleases, shocks, and surprises us. Flora is still relevant in modern design and decoration materials. Flowers are presented in a variety of interpretations, from futuristic to Baroque. Flower and vegetable themes in the most vivid colors are included in the collections of wallpaper and textiles in 2014. There are retro and minimalist variations, and many unexpected symbioses. Neutral background with bright floral motifs is in priority.

Wallpaper in retro style does not lose its popularity even in 2014. Prints in the spirit of the ’60’s, or ornaments of the 20’s, they all take on a new incarnation. Peculiar embodiment of retro, like vintage and aged decor items, is extremely popular. For example, you can use portraits, signs or stamps in the spirit of the last century.

3D theme that was popular last year remains in trend in 2014. This time volumetric textures and geometric patterns are performed in more vivid color combinations ranging from light green and turquoise to lemon and fuchsia.

Geometric patterns in wallpaper and textiles are always in great demand. Thanks to them, you can visually “lift” or “expand” the space. This year the focus is on small prints: thin strips, minimalist arc, and lots of different shapes. They are an integral part of collections in 2014.
