Schproket Lighting Series by Christopher Moulder
Schproket Lighting System is an amazing new design from Christopher Moulder who used low voltage bulbs to create beautiful unusual lighting fixtures. Somewhere between a sprocket and a flower the Schproket looks quite different from its more conventional counterparts. Instead of a regular lightbulb and a shade the Schproket consists of a sprocket that acts as a socket and powers the number of small low voltage bulbs that are placed at every pointed corner of the sprocket.
Schproket Lighting Series
Christopher Moulder explains:
I wanted to create a piece with no wires or sockets, so I started experimenting with low voltage bulbs. Low voltage means the fixture doesn’t have to be insulated. Instead, the ‘schproket’ is the socket.
Moulder created wall Schproket fixtures that look like lit flower-shaped wall decor as well as he designed a whole tiered chandelier consisting of seven different sized sprockets that end with a reversed drop-shaped bulb.
These are beautiful fixtures that are both modern and decorative. They could definitely enhance industrial style interior bringing in the warm glow of lightbulbs and an industrial note of a sprocket.
The Schproket series also include a two-leveled pendant light consisting of a smaller and bigger sprockets fixed not strictly parallel to each other but at an angle.
In the traditional interior as the one below the tiered chandelier the Schproket looks interesting and fresh but not too out of place either thanks to the classic design and shape. The numerous tiny lights beautifully light up every circle making for a very impressive look.
Christopher Moulder specializes in lighting fixtures including chandeliers, pendant lights, and wall lamps. His works are creative and simply amazing and also include whimsical furniture pieces.
