Dark Stylish Living Room Design Ideas

A living room doesn’t always have to be designed all in pastels and neutrals. If your tastes lie within the darker color palettes go for a dark stylish living room. There are many stylish color choices for a living room from black gray to chocolate brown or deep red. The right accessories will make the room welcoming enough yet leaving mystery to it.

Mystical vs. Boxy

The main thing to consider before buying dark wall paint is to assess the room dimensions as the darker colors make the room seem smaller. To avoid the boxy feeling opt for lighter hues or leaves the dark color scheme to the furniture and decorations. Natural lighting may improve the boxy room but lighter shades still work better in smaller rooms.

Decorations

Details and accessories are important in any color scheme. Choose those carefully to create harmonious arrangements. Opt for soft textures as well to make the dark room more welcoming. Stained glassware and bright accents will brighten up the dark living room making it more interesting.

Contrast

Contrast makes it more interesting. Choose a nicely contrasting color to the complete the main dark shade. Stripes, trims or color blocks can be very stylish. Just be sure that the colors go well together and don’t compete with each other.
