Working space is where we spend most of our day. The home or work office can be a inspiring or on the contrary, quite dull which is setting the mood for the whole working process. Google is one of those modern companies which invests into interior design and decor of its offices to provide creative and relaxed atmosphere for the workers.
Google offices are never dull, in fact they are incredible because they combine private and public spaces that aid not only in team-building but in creating a focused private work atmosphere that is not pristine and constrained. There are also playful elements and whole rooms that allow workers relax and completely switch from work to rest.

‘Granny’s bedhead’ boardroom
This particular Google HQ in London is simply amazing. The 160,000 square foot office was designed by PENSON in English style with a pop of Union Jack in the hallway, floral walls of the Flower Power boardroom and tufted sitting spaces like Velourmptious snug (pictured). One of the areas is called Granny’s Flat enhanced with cozy chairs and pendant lights.
The office also features a library with a round sitting and a secret garden located on the office’s roof terrace. There are even timber tubs which can be assigned to workers who want to grow plants.
Another London office was designed by Scott Brownrigg. The 40,000 square feet of space was divided with help of Furniture arrangement and color rather than walls. The spacious hall features a big bright Google logo on the feature wall against the white color scheme.
To provide workers with private space in an open layout there were fun colorful cubicles incorporated into the design making for a more private and enclosed space. Also see Google Campus design in London.
The office in Zurich is a combination of very different zones and elements that make it simply awesome. There is a slide, music room, igloo-inspired meeting rooms, relaxation area with fish tanks built into walls. In one word, it’s amazing.
As most Google offices this one is colorful featuring pops of color in walls, furnishings and various accents. Designed by Camenzind Evolution, which also designed an office in Dublin and Tel-Aviv this amazing office is full of ideas.
Google’s Dublin office is not less impressive. Designed by the same studio this office nevertheless has its own special feel. It also features different zones that are more public and private for both work and relaxation. There is a basketball room, game room, cafeteria with a slide access, and a cozy seat surrounded with greenery.
In the hall there are larger than life Google letters that function as seats and reception. The cafeteria is designed in a sea-theme with 3D wave details and a beautiful feature wall decorated with an abstract pattern.
In Pittsburg a century-old former Nabisco factory was transformed into a spacious office with working space dividers. Designed by Strada this office retains some elements of the fabric making for a loft-like atmosphere.
The bright cafeteria includes the pool table and some other elements for relaxing and resting from work. The sitting area features a ceiling with chic woodwork.
Tel-Aviv Google office consists of several different areas not only in terms of purpose but also in terms of style and design. There is a beautiful garden with trees and sofas, a sea-themed cafeteria with a surf board-shaped table and amazing offices with a view.
The amount of work and details is amazing. There are patterned tiles in the cafeteria, egg chairs in the room decorated with a grid pattern, and a room with two lounge chairs with digitally-printed wall coverings depicting water drops. Pure relaxation!
Designed by Setter Architects this Google office in Haifa looks more like a beach retreat than a working space. Aptly called Beach Town the office is finished with bamboo and dry palm. The flooring is done in two shades to imitate water and sand and emphasize the theme of the design. Some walls are decorated with grafitti while others show exposed brick.
There are also recycled elements including old doors to shipping containers implemented into the office design and decor. The surf boards act as decorations separating the sitting area from the desks.
The New York office is a fun place to work in. There are ping-pong tables and Pac-Man machines as well as a computer museum with retro machines standing on colorful pedestals. There is also a pool table and a library.
The office is decorated with pops of bright colors in the furnishings. The New York panoramic photo decorates the wall at the cafe while the boardroom features walls covered in photorealistic wall coverings depicting the city.
Also designed by Camenzind Evolution, the Moscow office is an incredible place with the photographic wallpapers, amazing lit tree decor elements, and the numerous pendant lights that add to the mysterious atmosphere.
The working desks are as everywhere else. Located in a spacious room there are numerous desks and computers for work but also areas for relaxation, workout and privacy.
The Milan office is colorful and playful in design but the views of the city from the big windows are simply stunning. The working space is open but separated with glass which is in turn decorated with plants.
The playing area is decorated with the colorful patterned wooden floors, a pool table, oversize cushioned seats and a foosball table.
What an amazing way to combine private and public, work and play areas. All offices are spacious but they include elements that allow workers relax, have fun and even workout. There are also many design solutions that can be taken from these offices. Which one do you like the best?
