Modern Piano for your Interior Design
Piano is one of the largest musical instruments so it kinda became a part of interior design with time. Some want it for its function but others won’t mind having one for its design and aesthetic. So either you want it for aesthetic purpose or for both its function and aesthetic there are many modern piano designs out there right now.
Of course, most of these pianos here are available exclusively in one exemplar and those that are available in limited collection cost a fortune but they are truly designed to decorate the most luxurious interior designs. Nevertheless it is interesting to see what pianos may actually look like in future.
The unconventional collaboration of Audi Design and Vienna piano manufacturer Bösendorfer has yielded no less unconventional piano design to honor the 100th anniversary of the German auto giant.
Generous surface areas ensure formal clarity; there are no decorative applications, the edges and lines are sharply drawn, the joints logically positioned. All these are important aspects of the Audi design,
said designer Philip Schlesinger. This modern-looking piano will cost those who are interested €100,000. The instrument features the closed rim for the bass as well as a leg and pedal lyre in polished stainless steel looking uber-modern and high-tech.
Seiler has also had its say in creating some futuristic grand pianos such as Meteor, Suspension Piano, and Showmaster. The Suspension piano you see on the pic above was conceived to bring the bridge aesthetic to home. Amazing, isn’t it?
Schimmel Pegasus is a piano in 14 exemplars each of them sold to the likes of Lenny Kravitz, Eddie Murphy, and Prince. The last such piano was sold for $110,000. Designed by Professor Luigi Colani and manufactured by Schimmel Pianos Pegasus is a very special piano. It is upgraded to fit a virtuoso and surely looks like it could appear in a sci-fi movie.
Designed by NYT Line and manufactured by Fazioli this sea-inspired piano is intricate and simply beautiful. Made of natural wood it features part in metal and plexiglas. M. Liminal sits on a silver brushed-metal base and features a transparent music stand to see inside the red soundboard.
One more modern piano or rather its concept I would like to show you is Hydra. A concept by talented designer Apostol Tnokovski who was inspired by mythological creature Hydra and Lady Gaga’s performance that lacked this kind of instrument. It’s absolutely unimaginable. This project has certainly impressed the international public but it remains as project for now. Maybe Gaga could collaborate with some piano manufacturer to help realize Hydra piano.
