5 Nature-Inspired Designs by Shire Studio
Shire Studio has created 5 designs inspired by nature. Various natural phenomena have found their way into these beautiful and unusual creations. London-based Shire Studio specializes on architecture and object design. The studio‘s approach to design lies in its name which translates as “white” from Japanese and implied as pure.
Floranatomy is a limited edition series of vases that explore flower structure and biological form. Some vases imitate the flower cups showing off their intricacies and form.
Inspired by Lunar craters these trays are made of marble and and provide a surface fit for rounded shapes and forms of fruit and vegetables as well as other objects. Anything that can rest on the uneven surfaces of the trays. The trays show off the ribbed texture and come in limited edition.
Inspired by porous bone tissue the Trabeculae Series of furniture looks more than interesting. It is absolutely intricate and breathtaking. The complexity of the designs are contrasted by the functionality of the objects created specifically for home.
Nivis celebrates the snow’s structure and frailty. The sink is made of cristalplant and features soft lines, rounded form almost unstructured like a cover of snow was weighed down by some object that left a mark on it.
The tray was inspired by naturally changing surfaces that take new forms. This tray reminds of the water ripples that occur when the wind blows or the water is disturbed.
