How To Clean Mirrors

Share |

Cleaning a mirror is not that difficult but keeping it perfectly shiny can be a daunting task. There are a few things you can do in terms of maintenance. For example, you can refrain from touching the mirror with your hands and wipe away all the water drops, spits and spots before they dry out and dull the mirror. Of course the best way of keeping a mirror shiny is dusting it regularly and cleaning it thoroughly once in a while.

Tools

One of the best tools for cleaning mirrors is a microfiber cloth that can be used with warm water or dish soap or even a shaving foam for cleaning mirrors. You can also find a squeegee helpful as it deals great with excess water and leaves the shiny surfaces streak-free. Old newspaper is often used to achieve that shine in a mirror.

Cleaning Products

Dish soap and shaving foam are just a couple of cleaning products used for mirror cleaning. If you want to go chemical-free consider vinegar as your eco-friendly choice. Just mix equal parts of water and white vinegar in a spray bottle and your cleaning solution is ready.

Cleaning Tips

When cleaning a mirror use circular motions to avoid smears. Apply your cleaning solution onto a wash cloth instead of mirror to avoid any mirror damage from liquid. Dust your mirror with a damp cloth before washing it to, again, avoid dirty smears and streaks. First, wash away all the dirt, spots, and dry water drops and then use a squeegee or a newspaper to make it dry and shine.

Maintenance

To keep your bathroom mirror steam-free, spread shaving foam across the entire mirror and wipe it away with a microfiber cloth. You can also keep your bathroom mirror spotless with a quick clean. Just be sure to keep a microfiber cloth around and wipe away all the water drops and spots from the mirror immediately.
