There is no doubt that the richest people of the world live in Hollywood. And rich people prefer investing their capital into masterpieces, as such investment not only confirms the taste of the buyer, but also is increasing in price. One of Hollywood’s favorite architects is the famous modernist architect John Lautner. He created the legendary house for the famous comedian of the last century Bob Hope. The house is one of the most outstanding works of the architect.

Hope’s home was designed in 1973 in the middle of the Coachella Valley near San Jacinto Mount. To this day it is considered one of the most extraordinary mansions in the world. Indeed, you can list a lot of interesting stuff, starting with the space of the mansion, which is more than a mile , and ending with a swimming pool in a form of the profile of its owner.

Unusual design conceals an ecological twist : a round roof of the building with a hole in the middle is not just a creative design. It was conceived by the author for the proper circulation of air inside the house. Apparently, the idea worked, as the host lived there up to 100 years! And only after his death the house was first offered for sale for an impressive sum of $ 50 million.

Another brilliant creation by Lautner is the Elrod House. It is one of the most famous mansions around the world primarily due to the fact, that in 1971 some scenes from the James Bond movie “Diamonds Are Forever” were filmed there.

The house was named after Arthur Elrod, one of the popular designers of Southern California, who moved there in 1968.

And here is John Lautner’s own house.

He revised the organization premises in his home and gave it quite distinctive look with exclusive furniture and unusual jewelry, made on order. The internal space of the house was decorated in pastel colors, which emphasizes the transparency of the building, overlooking the mountains of San Gabriel.
