Metallic surfaces and decorations can add a lot aesthetically to interior design. Stainless steel gives it a more modern feel while gold adds luxury. Metallic surfaces and accessories have a specific shine which creates a contrast with mat and non-glossy surfaces. This enriches the decor or makes it look more modern.

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel surfaces can often be seen in kitchens as many appliances are made of it. It’s semi-shiny surface is both modern and elegant and gives a kitchen a contemporary even hi-tech feel. Stainless steel goes well with wooden surfaces as well creating a contrast of warmth in the wood and coldness in the steel.

Silver & Gold

Silver and gold color finishes are meant to add luxury and flair to the room. From wallpaper and coverings to decorations and lighting silver and gold finish can add shine to the room and make it look more luxurious or simply more interesting.

Accents

If the color scheme allows silver, gold or simply metallic shine can be added to the decor through accents. A sink in a bathroom or a lamp base in the living room. These colors can also be used in fabric and upholstery. Metallic and gold can work with many different colors.

Walls & Surfaces

If metallic surfaces appeal much to your taste they can be a bigger part of the color scheme. There are wall coverings with metallic finish and patterns, there are gold wall coverings for bathrooms as well as gold paints. Metallic finishes can also be used in bed linens, spreads and upholstery.
