Pantone Inc., the color Matching system chose an emerald green as the color of 2013. Emerald green is gorgeous accent color but can also be used in wall paint and taperstries. Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute® explained Pantone’s choice:

Symbolically, Emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today’s complex world. This powerful and universally-appealing tone translates easily to both fashion and home interiors.

Accents

Accents are easy to work with. If the emerald green fits with your room’s color scheme you can add the emerald accents immediately with throw pillows, bowls, vases, chairs, curtains, and other accessories. You can also reupholster the old chairs with a fabric in this color to give them a fresh look and a makeover to your living or dining room.

Feature Wall

To transform your living room or any other room in the house you can just paint a feature wall the beautiful emerald green and instantly get a whole new look completing it with a few accents in matching or appropriate contrasting colors like blue and yellow.

Framed Color Sample

If you don’t want to buy many accessories or paint a wall you can take a fabric sample in a beautiful emerald green instead and frame it. This way you’ll be able to hang it on the wall or place it on the shelf. It is a great way to introduce color into the decor and without many expenses. You can use other colors as well to create color block wall decor.

Statement Object

Choose a statement object in the shade of emerald green that you like. It can be a cabinet or a tea table. To make it work in your decor make sure it fits the color scheme of the room.

Emerald green is a jewel tone so it can easily be mixed with other jewel tones like amethyst, citrine, sapphire and more. White and black are the two great neutrals that can be used to balance out the emerald green.

You can make the emerald green a part of your Christmas decor color scheme as well. Baubles, tableware, and other accents can make for a great Christmas color.

Emerald green is also a color theme for Christmas since a lot of homes display their Christmas tree inside their home. The color is selected when a home owner happens to love green to incorporate in his interior theme color setting.
