The Alpina Gstaad

Hotel of the year of 2013 was called The Alpina Gstaad, a new luxury hotel in Switzerland, which is located in the heart of the Bernese Alps, just in five minutes of walk from the center of Gstaad.

This hotel also won the award for “Design of lounge and public spaces”. The jury also decided that the rooms and bathrooms of the hotel are also worthy to be called the best.

The hotel was opened on 2 December 2012. Construction of the hotel took more than 300 million Swiss francs. It was the first hotel opened in Gstaad in the last 100 years.

Bulgari Hotel & Residences

Bulgari Hotel & Residences in London was called the best of the new hotels. It is the first luxury hotel in London for the last 40 years, which is located in one of the most prestigious districts of Knightsbridge on the site of the former Normandie Hotel.

The hotel has 85 rooms of different categories, including 6 suites and a penthouse, two restaurants, a fitness center, a SPA and a cinema. Rooms and suites embody the spirit of contemporary Italian design. Silk wallpaper, Italian furniture and unique table lamps, inspired by classic Bulgari candlesticks, in combination with other carefully selected materials give each apartment a unique elegance and comfort.

Speicher 7

The Speicher 7 hotel in the German city of Mannheim has become the best hotel in the nomination “The building transformed into a hotel”.

The building of the former grain warehouse, located on the waterfront of the Rhine river, was empty for the last 30 years. Its reconstruction was made by Schmucker und Partner Planungsgesellschaft mbH architects. Inspired by the aesthetics of industrial buildings of 50-ies of the last century, the architects have kept original rough concrete structures, floor coverings and many details of old buildings, such as the six-meter ceilings in the rooms and huge windows in the entire height. The hotel offers just 20 rooms. Each of them has a unique design.

Ushuaia Beach Hotel

Winner in the “Reconstruction of the existing hotel” nomination became the Ushuaia Beach Hotel in Ibiza. The Ushuaia Beach Hotel was renovated in 2011. Last year it was supplemented by the stunning eight-story tower – Ushuaïa Tower. The buildings, which were built at different times, were combined and brilliantly decorated in the same style by Spanish architects from EstudioVilla13. Facade of the building has changed, approaching Ushuaïa philosophy and nature. They were decorated by decorative elements of metal plates with floral motifs. They create the perfect atmosphere to enjoy the exclusivity of the hotel.
